Assistant Director, Systems & Networking

Bachelor of Arts, Computer Science & Mathematics, SUNY Geneseo
Master of Science, Computational Science, SUNY Brockport
Doctor of Professional Studies, Computing, Pace University

I have been working with the web since 1993, when I set up my first two web servers on a Mac SE 30 and a NeXT cube. I have seen the web grow from 40 web sites to billions. I have assisted students in learning about web technologies and forming their own companies.

My Passions

I love working with anybody who wants to learn and finding creative solutions. I enjoy assisting people with technology and looking to make their world a better place.

Lead Web Applications Developer

I have degrees in astronomy and computer science. I started programming as a child and did my first web work in the early 1990s, but I didn’t expect either of these to become my profession. Fortunately it turns out people will pay you for them even though you’re having fun.

My Passions

I love the ways the internet and the web bring people together. I love empowering people by introducing them to new skills. I love seeing people enjoy things. I love when someone discovers a passion of their own. I love working with students. I love friends and family. I love travel. I *particularly* love coffee.

Assistant Director of Enrollment Communications

After a failed radio career, I realized my passion lay in helping students… and I’ve been doing that for more than 15 years, in various positions in enrollment management and student affairs. It’s a challenge to be a ‘Web guy’ who can’t code (yet), but I love working with our students and sharing their joys and successes with the world.

My Passions

My family, music, my students, and baseball–particularly the Mets. (In some order.)

Media and Design Specialist

My undergraduate degree was in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego in 2000, with a minor in Economics and History. You can see that these fields aren’t necessarily conducive to what I do now. When my initial dreams of becoming a stock and market fund guru fell through, I feel back on my Plan B – my love of technology. I have an extensive background in support which has led me through many roles – server, email, domain, network, and application administration. I learned through various training courses, reading books, and on-the-job experience. Through my web development roles, I acquired a desire to work on design, thus leading me into my current role. I have taken some grad courses on the subject and hope to fulfill that degree in the not so distant future.

My Passions

I love being creative and having an outlet for that through my work. I enjoy helping others and working on projects together to achieve a common goal. My family are my number one priority. I enjoy the outdoors – hiking, biking, kayaking, camping. Also have a passion for cooking.
