I don’t want to be bored.

Principal

Designing and building the web since High School. I earned a B.S. Media Promotions and an M.A. Media Studies.Summer marketing internship at The Militia Group in 2005 got me started in social  media marketing. Ten years of designing, building, and strategizing web sites for college, university, and WordPress sites for bands, actors, bloggers, radio stations.

Now I build what I want.

My Passions

Quality in everything I design and build.
Making people happier through great design and interactions.
Eating tacos whenever I want.

Coffee Time!
Coffee Time!

Senior Digital Technologist

Spent 1 year at Northern Virginia Community College, then moved on to Shepherd College for 2-1/2 years. Worked on the Web as a hobby from the time Geocities came around, through my college years. Then picked it up as a side business while working for a septic contractor. Finally discovered it as my passion and my full-time job when I started working as the webmaster at Lord Fairfax Community College. Continuously fine-tuning my skills while running the website at University of Mary Washington.

My Passions:

The Web & WordPress; my family; coffee; music

Graphic Designer

I learned the basics of print/ web design at an IT specialty high school, working from the age of 16 as a freelance graphic designer. While getting my Bachelors in Religion with a minor in Christian Counseling, I worked with multimedia design agencies to produce print and web marketing materials. My love-affair with WordPress began through trial and error — and that’s the way I’ve continued to learn. In the end, my formal education has nothing to do with my career of choice.

My Passions:

I’m driven by the desire for excellence, and don’t think it can be achieved without a teachable attitude. I’m fascinated by the connectedness of our current culture, and am constantly looking for ways to get past the noise of media to reach a target audience. I’m also passionate about great music, my husband, my hedgehog (#BowserTheHedgehog), and the reality that there should never be two spaces in-between sentences. Ever.

I pretty much always look like I'm half-laughing, half-judging. I am, btw.

  • Accessibility, which to me means not only making the tool usable by everyone, but also making it available to everyone.
  • The awesome power of shared knowledge.
  • Truth.
  • Redefining success by using data to blow the doors off conventional thinking.
