Glenda Sims

Senior Accessibility Consultant at Deque

I love sharing my passion for the open web with government, education and companies that range from small business to Fortune 500. I serve as an accessibility consultant, judge and trainer for Knowbility, whose mission is to support the independence of children and adults with disabilities by promoting the use and improving the availability of accessibility information technology — barrier free IT.

Passions

I’m Glenda “the @goodwitch” and believe the web is for everyone; my passion is accessibility. I know I’m doing what I was meant to do when I cannot distinguish work from play.

I pretty much always look like I'm half-laughing, half-judging. I am, btw.

Director of Digital Communications

Mostly self taught, highly inquisitive, driven to break stuff and figure out how to fix it better. Empowering web users to be brilliant since 1994. Dog mom.

I’ve got a degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management Information Systems from Southern Arkansas University and am almost finished with a Master’s of Science in Information Quality from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

My Passions:

  • Accessibility, which to me means not only making the tool usable by everyone, but also making it available to everyone.
  • The awesome power of shared knowledge.
  • Truth.
  • Redefining success by using data to blow the doors off conventional thinking.
