Sven Aas

August 25, 2014 by

Since 2006 Sven Aas has worked at Mount Holyoke College, where he is responsible for the development and support of a wide variety of web systems and solutions. He has 18 years of professional computer experience in web and application development, including positions at Rare Medium and HBO. He has a master’s in computer science from NYU, and a bachelor’s in astronomy from UMass Amherst. Sven Aas

I have degrees in astronomy and computer science. Something I love about programming in general–and web work in particular–is the steady change that keeps it from getting boring. I don’t know what tools I’ll be using five years from now, and I never stop learning.

I’ve worked with great people in interesting jobs at start-ups and in industry but the mission of higher education is very important to me, and I’m proud to use my skills to support institutions that encourage the growth of both people and knowledge.

Georgy previously worked at Tufts University and Suffolk University, in addition to her own independent consultancy. Georgy Cohen

Georgy has taken a “renaissance man” approach to her career, allowing her varied educational experiences to shape her professional path. As a journalism major, she sought out every opportunity to apply her craft, not limiting herself to her medium of choice, the written word. In fact, she says one of her most educational college experiences was the summer she interned for a cable access news show. Not only did her duties involve writing and reporting, but she was able to run audio, camera, and even direct an evening newscast. As her career took off after graduating college in 2001, she not only wrote but delved into coding, design, even audio and video editing. By working for a variety of publications, across a range of mediums, she set herself up well to be a versatile and nimble communications professional.
