Georgy Cohen is associate creative director for content strategy at OHO Interactive, a digital agency based in Cambridge, Mass. She is also co-founder of Meet Content, a resource empowering higher education to create and sustain web content that works. Georgy previously worked at Tufts University and Suffolk University, in addition to her own independent consultancy. She speaks frequently, receiving Best of Conference honors at HighEdWeb 2011 for her session, “Reinventing News on your University Website,” and delivering the keynote addresses at HighEdWeb Pittsburgh 2014 and HighEdWeb Arkansas 2011.
Georgy has taken a “renaissance man” approach to her career, allowing her varied educational experiences to shape her professional path. As a journalism major, she sought out every opportunity to apply her craft, not limiting herself to her medium of choice, the written word. In fact, she says one of her most educational college experiences was the summer she interned for a cable access news show. Not only did her duties involve writing and reporting, but she was able to run audio, camera, and even direct an evening newscast. As her career took off after graduating college in 2001, she not only wrote but delved into coding, design, even audio and video editing. By working for a variety of publications, across a range of mediums, she set herself up well to be a versatile and nimble communications professional.
